Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappe admitted to hospital

Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappe has been admitted to the hospital at the Club World Cup after missing out on the opening match against Saudi Arabian side Al Hilal on Wednesday, which ended in a 1-1 draw.
The Frenchman is in the US with the Madrid squad at the Club World Cup, but failed to make the starting lineup in their first game of the tournament due to some complications.
Mbappe is now reported to be receiving treatment for gastroenteritis – the club have announced.

The statement read: “Our player Kylian Mbappé has acute gastroenteritis and has been hospitalized for various tests and treatment.”
Mbappe, who endured a slow start to life in the Spanish top flight, took little time to find his usual form at the Bernabeu.
The 26-year-old has been pivotal for Los Blancos this season, scoring 31 LaLiga goals since his high-profile summer move from Paris Saint-Germain last season on a free transfer.

Real Madrid enter the tournament as one of the favourites, having dominated European football over the last decade, winning five of the last 10 Champions League titles, but surprisingly failed to record their first win of the new-look tournament without Mbappe.
According to information gathered on the NHS website, gastroenteritis is a common mild stomach bug characterised by diarrhoea and vomiting, often related to food poisoning -an infection that typically lasts less than a week.
Xabi Alonso’s side returns to Club World Cup action on Sunday, facing Pachuca in North Carolina.
