His hospitalization was a surprise development amid Madrid’s busy schedule at the FIFA Club World Cup. Madrid’s medical team provided an update later in the day, stating that Mbappe had returned to the club’s training base and was continuing his recovery.
The club emphasized that he would undergo specific medical treatment and would gradually rejoin team activities as his condition improved. The club remains cautious about his availability for upcoming fixtures, given the nature of his illness.
Mbappe missed training on Tuesday and was absent from Madrid’s opening game in the tournament against Al-Hilal on Wednesday. Head Coach of Real Madrid, Xabi Alonso indicated that the player was in “rough shape” and had not been able to train in the days leading up to the match.
