Vincent Kompany guides Bayern Munich to flawless season start

Vincent Kompany has maintained a perfect start to the season in all competitions, guiding Bayern Munich to victory in 13 consecutive games played so far in the 2025/26 season.
Bayern are enjoying life under the Belgian manager after a little stutter in his first season in the German top flight.
Bayern have set a new European record with their 13 consecutive wins in all competitions in the current campaign, equaling AC Milanās 1992/93 European record for teams in the continentās top five leagues.

The league leaders’ impeccable run of form, spanning the Bundesliga, Champions League, DFB-Pokal, and DFL-Supercup, boasts an impressive 47-9 goal differential, effectively usurping Milan’s goals from their legendary streak.
Under Kompany, Bayern have become the first German club in history to achieve this milestone.
However, things could have been different had he signed for Schalke. Schalkeās former sporting director, Rouven Schroder, has now revealed that before Kompany took charge of Burnley, talks were held for him to take the reins in Gelsenkirchen.
“When he was at Anderlecht and we were looking for a coach at Schalke for the Bundesliga, I was simply tempted to talk to such a great player.
“He was also Manchester City captain. That was one of the best conversations you can have with a coach.
“A young, up-and-coming coach. The door opens; he’s huge and superbly prepared,” said the Borussia Monchengladbach sporting director.”

The Belgian tactician later moved to Championship side Burnley in 2022, a move that shaped his managerial identity.
In his debut season, he guided Burnley to a record-breaking Championship title, earning 101 points with 29 wins in 46 matches and securing promotion to the Premier League in commanding fashion.
Though the Premier League proved challenging, Burnley finished 19th and were relegated under his leadership. His attacking philosophy, rooted in possession and positional play, revitalised a team that had been struggling across multiple fronts.

His charisma, clarity and commitment to progressive football didnāt go unnoticed. In summer 2024, Bayern came calling, paying ā¬12 million to bring him to the Allianz Arena.
After just a season, Kompany has transformed Bayern into a rejuvenated powerhouse. Amid their 13-match winning streak, his composed leadership and innovative footballing vision have reignited the clubās passion.
The transformation has been so remarkable that Bayern recently extended his contract until 2029, marking him as the first manager since 2010 to earn an early renewal.
The 39-year-old’s tactical acumen, composed leadership, and emphasis on team culture have not only steadied the club but also established it as a favourite for this season’s Champions League title.
