Thomas Tuchel names shocking 26-man squad

Three Lions manager Thomas Tuchel has officially announced his 26-man squad for the World Cup, sending shockwaves through the media, with notable names omitted from the final lineup.

Harry Maguire, Cole Palmer, Phil Foden, and Trent Alexander-Arnold have officially not made it into England’s World Cup squad.

Adam Wharton, Morgan Gibbs-White, Lewis Hall, Luke Shaw and Jarrod Bowen are among the other notable omissions as Thomas Tuchel prepares to lead a surprisingly unconventional squad to North America.

One of the biggest surprises from the squad announcement was the omission of Harry Maguire, a decision that raised eyebrows among supporters and pundits alike.

The 33-year-old defender enjoyed an impressive campaign for the Red Devils, particularly under interim head coach Michael Carrick, who guided the club back to UEFA Champions League qualification.

Maguire ultimately failed to make the England squad, with one of the reasons being tactical, and the other to do with his mentality, as rumoured.

Despite having a wealth of world-class talent at his disposal, Tuchel has opted to leave several high-profile names behind, with a number of globally recognised stars omitted from England national football team’s squad for this summer’s tournament.
