AC Milan confident in pursuit to land Kyle Walker permanently

AC Milan is expected to make Walker’s loan move permanent in the summer

AC Milan are confident in their pursuit to land Manchester City defender Kyle Walker permanently after his loan deal expires in the summer.

All the signs show that the England international’s time at the Etihad might be over, and he could join the Italian giants in a bargain deal next season.

Milan are ‘convinced’ to sign Man City loanee permanently as the 34-year-old seeks Premier League escape for a new challenge in Italy.

According to a report from La Gazzetta dello Sport, Milan have put plans in place to make Walker’s loan move permanent.

Walker has spent the second half of the season on loan in Italy, with the Serie A side ‘convinced’ about making the Champions League winner’s stay much longer.

Gazzetta claims that Walker will be a part of the Milan squad next season.

Reports says, City included a €5 million buy option in his loan deal, given that his contract with the defending Premier League champions expires next year.

Fabrizio Romano confirmed last week that the six-time Premier League Champions will hope to replace Walker by signing a new right-back this summer. The report further talked about outgoings from Milan this summer, with the club ready to listen to offers for club captain Theo Hernandez, whose contract ends in 2026 but is yet to sign a renewal.

Walker is currently recovering from a fractured elbow, which he was diagnosed with earlier this month.

The 34-year-old defender underwent surgery and is expected to return before the end of the season, though no official timeline has been set for his recovery.

Walker has played 410 games for Manchester City, scoring 8 goals and providing 36 assists, while managing 130 clean sheets in that process. He joined the club in July 2017 from Tottenham Hotspur.

At Milan, Walker has 12 appearances, with no goal scored or assist recorded in his name in the season before suffering an injury, keeping him on the sidelines.
