Carlo Ancelotti has refused to provide any update on his Real Madrid future amid recent “confusion” over the Brazil national team job.

Ancelotti’s imminent departure from Real Madrid seems closer than ever amid speculations revealing that a deal had been agreed for the Italian to take charge of Brazil in time for June fixtures against Ecuador and Paraguay in World Cup qualifiers.

However, talks between the Selecao and Real Madrid are said to be on the brink of collapse after the 65-year-old refused to sign on Brazil Football Confederation’s (CBF) contract.

ESPN later reported that CBF remains intent on securing Ancelotti as the next head coach of the national team.

Despite the setback, CBF president Ednaldo Rodrigues has reportedly renewed his commitment to the manager, extending the deadline for a decision.

Ancelotti has a clause in his current Madrid contract that only allows him to leave Los Blancos once they are no longer in the La Liga title race.

Barcelona currently sit atop the La Liga standings, maintaining a four-point lead over their rivals, with just five fixtures left in the season.

However, amid all the speculations and expectations from everyone, Ancelotti prefers to stay calm, while remaining tight-lipped and refusing to reveal anything concerning his future.

Speaking to reporters, the Madrid boss said: “My feeling is to think about tomorrow’s match and try to win it.

“And then, prepare well for the next match, which will be very important and will give us the opportunity to fight even more for this competition.”

He added: “I’m fine. I understand that you want to talk about my future, but I do not.

“It’s simple. It’s a lack of communication with you. I know perfectly well what I have to do, what I am going to do and what I do, which is not to talk about my future today.

“I know I disappointed you today, but I don’t care.”

The reigning Spanish champions will be back in action in La Liga on Sunday as they take on Celta Vigo in a crucial home fixture.
