Luka Modric set to join AC Milan after Club World Cup

Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric is expected to join AC Milan after the Club World Cup, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
The 39-year-old’s current contract with Madrid expires this summer, and will undergo a medical before putting pen to paper.
Modric was included in Xabi Alonso’s squad for the revamped tournament in the US.

Romano posted on X: “Luka Modrić will sign in as new AC Milan player after Club World Cup.
“The verbal agreement is done and sealed with medical to follow in July, exclusive story confirmed since start of June for Luka’s future. …and 𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐰𝐞 𝐠𝐨, soon.”

Madrid commenced their Club World Cup campaign with a 1-1 draw against Al-Hilal in Miami on June 18 before beating Pachuca 3-1. They take on RB Salzburg in their final group game on Friday.
Several clubs in Saudi Arabia and the MLS were keen on signing Modri, but the former Tottenham midfielder has decided to keep playing in Europe.
Modric moved to Real Madrid from Spurs in 2012 and has since gone on to feature in 591 games for Los Blancos.
He has won several titles, including the Champions League a staggering six times during his career, while he also earned the Ballon d’Or in 2018.
The Croatia captain racked up 57 appearances for Madrid in all competitions last season, including 35 in La Liga.
