Matchday nine of the Ghana Premier League produced a series of competitive fixtures, highlighted by the top-of-the-table meeting between Aduana Stars and Medeama at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park.

The highly anticipated clash ended 0-0, with both teams unable to find a breakthrough despite creating promising chances. The result halts Aduana’s winning run and keeps Medeama firmly in the title conversation.

The weekend’s action began on Friday at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Park, where Hohoe United earned a late point in a 1-1 draw against Nations FC. Sena Eti put Nations ahead in the first half, finishing off a swift attacking move. However, Emmanuel Annor struck late to rescue Hohoe United, ensuring both teams shared the spoils.

In Tema, Vision FC handed Eleven Wonders another difficult outing with a 2-1 comeback victory. Matthew Amponsah gave Wonders an early lead, but Vision showed resilience. Emmanuel Sanja leveled the game before Maxwell Adjetey scored the winner, securing all three points for the home side.

At the Wenchi Park, Young Apostles emerged victorious in the most dramatic match of the weekend — a 3-2 thriller against Bechem United.


Young Apostles’ goals came through Hussein Issah, Issah Nyabila, and Vincent Mobila, who combined effectively in attack.
Bechem United replied through Augustine Okran Boateng, but ultimately left Wenchi empty-handed after a spirited contest.

In Tamale, Karela United and Dreams FC settled for a 1-1 draw. Malik Abubakar broke the deadlock for Karela with a composed finish, but Suraj Seidu responded for Dreams to level the match.

There was a strong performance at the Ampain Arena, where Basake Holy Stars defeated defending champions Goldstars 2-0. Prince Agyemang opened the scoring before Prince Tweneboah doubled the advantage, sealing a deserved win.

In Samreboi, Samartex continued their solid home form with a 1-0 win over Swedru All Blacks, thanks to Emmanuel Mamah, who struck the decisive goal.

The weekend concluded at the Accra Sports Stadium, where Hearts of Oak suffered their first defeat of the season, falling 1-0.
The deciding moment came in the first half, when Morifing Donzo converted from the penalty spot to secure the away victory.
