Bournemouth reach agreement with Marco Rose over Andoni Iraola replacement

Bournemouth have reportedly reached an agreement with Marco Rose over the replacement of manager Andoni Iraola, who has announced his departure from the club after this season.

The former RB Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund manager has been the frontrunner for the dugout at the Vitality Stadium, with the club working around the clock for his appointment.

The 49-year-old was always the favourite to replace Iraola at the Premier League side because of his similar footballing philosophy, style of play, and European experience.
According to journalist David Ornstein, another big part of the Cherries’ choice was his familiarity with managing the likes of Erling Haaland, Jude Bellingham, and Dominic Szoboszlai.

Rose has been out of management since being sacked by RB Leipzig in March 2025. During that period, he led the team to victory in the DFB-Pokal (German Cup) in the 2022/23 season, as well as the DFL-Supercup in 2023.
In a Club Statement after the agreement, Bournemouth said: “The club’s immediate focus remains firmly on finishing the current campaign as strongly as possible, with the players and staff continuing to show full commitment to achieving positive results and building on the current 13-game unbeaten run.
“Everyone at AFC Bournemouth looks forward to welcoming Marco to Vitality Stadium as he begins his role as head coach in the summer.”
