Black Princesses book place at 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup

The Ghana U-20 women’s national team, the Black Princesses, have secured qualification to the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup after edging Uganda 3-2 on aggregate.
Despite playing out a 1-1 draw against Uganda in Kampala on Saturday afternoon, Ghana progressed thanks to their 2-1 first-leg victory in Accra, sealing an eighth consecutive appearance at the global tournament.

Uganda started brightly at the FUFA Stadium, Kadiba, taking the lead just seven minutes into the game through Sylvia Kabene, whose effort took a deflection before finding the back of the net.
The Black Princesses, however, responded strongly and restored parity through captain Linda Owusu, who converted a brilliant free kick to level matters before halftime.
Ghana were forced to finish the game with ten players after defender Margaret Agyapomaa was sent off with 20 minutes remaining following a challenge on Peace Muduwa.
Despite late pressure from the hosts, the Black Princesses defended resolutely to preserve the draw and confirm their place at the World Cup once again.

The 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup will be hosted in Poland from September 5 to September 23.
