Rodri is expected to sign a four-year contract at the Camp Nou
Rodri set for Barcelona medical as Man City exit nears

Barcelona have agreed a reported £65.4 million deal with Manchester City for midfielder Rodri, with the Spain international set to undergo his medical ahead of completing his move to Camp Nou.
According to reports, Man City have accepted Barcelona’s third bid for the Spanish international after two initial bids of £40m and £55m were turned down for one of their priced assets.
The Spain World Cup winner, who helped City to four Premier League titles and a Champions League triumph, is expected to sign a four-year contract with the La Liga winners until 2030, with an option for a further year.

The 30-year-old was previously linked with Barcelona rivals Real Madrid, with the move reportedly approved by new head coach Jose Mourinho, before a turnaround by the player to switch to the Catalan club.
Rodri had one year left on his contract and while City wanted him to stay and sign an extension, he opted for a new adventure away from England, and when Barca came calling, he couldn’t turn the opportunity down.
City broke the British transfer record to sign £116 million Elliot Anderson from Nottingham Forest this summer and are interested in a £120 million move for Chelsea’s Enzo Fernandez, while they keenly continue on their pursuit of Lille’s Ayyoub Bouaddi.

Meanwhile, the Cityzens have agreed a deal to sell Tijjani Reijnders to Al Qadsiah in a fee in the region of £51m.
Reijnders, who joined City from AC Milan last summer, wants to move and now looks set for the Saudi Pro League.
Chelsea expect Enzo Fernandez to remain at Stamford Bridge for the entirety of the 2026/27 season after City failed to meet the Friday deadline set by the Blues. Chelsea had placed a £120 million valuation on the Argentina World Cup winner.
However, City could still make a move for the Argentina international following the agreement of Rodri’s transfer to Barcelona.
