Thomas Tuchel is set to start Morgan Rogers and Kyle Walker as he gets his first game in charge as manager of the Three Lions in an 18-month contract that ends after the 2026 World Cup Finals.
The 51-year-old former Chelsea boss succeeds Gareth Southgate permanently and has the task of steering England to eventually win a European competition.
Tuchel becomes the third non-Englishman to hold the post after Sven-Goran Eriksson and Fabio Capello.
The former PSG and Bayern Munich boss has an immediate daunting task ahead of him to qualify England for the 2026 World Cup and probably win it.
A high-priority task that seems very difficult to achieve. Knowing that England’s top record as a giant in world football was winning the World Cup in 1966. Since then, the prestigious trophy has eluded them greatly.
Former England International and manager, Gareth Southgate in his most doubting spell came close to winning a European Cup, but for a 2-1 loss to Spain in the Nations League final – having been runners-up in the Euros 2020 and 2024 respectively.
Tuchel will start his England campaign as manager in a World Cup Qualifier at Wembley against Albania tonight at exactly 7:45 pm UK time bar any unforeseen circumstances.
According to Sky Sports sources, there is a strong belief that the German manager is likely to start Morgan Rogers and Kyle Walker in his first XI in the 2026 World Cup qualifier.

Rogers may slot in at the right wing at Wembley in Bukayo Saka’s absence in the World Cup qualifier against Albania, having played there for Aston Villa in three of their last four games and the possible 94th cap tonight for Walker against Albania.
With Tuchel only telling his players the starting line-up on matchday, in contrast to Gareth Southgate, it leaves room for a lot of speculation, however, very reliable sources have tipped Rogers and Walker to start in a must-win fixture at Wembley to give Tuchel warm welcome in his return to England as a manager.
